Our road trip has started from Madrid up to Benasque through Zaragoza (will show some of Madrid-Zaragoza pics later on!)
-
Edu was driving while I took some photos on the way. The light and views were fantastic..
-
Arrived to our hotel in Plan after midnight in pitch dark, so this is the first photo taken from our room balcony in the morning, when we finally could see what BEAUTY surrounded us!
-
Our cutest hotel-boutique Mediodia (you can find it on Booking.com)
-
We went out exploring the area after the breakfast: me with the cam and Edu wearing his running gear as he wanted to go running :)
-
Met friends on the way :) Left is our rented car Opel Insignia - LOVED driving it as well as being a passenger!
-
('No parking: exit for Ambulance' sign :))
-
Sun started going up, spreading around life and long awaited warmth
-
Then we slightly went apart as I was moving way too slow wowing the views and taking photos, while Edu had more energy for running :)
-
Cute narrow streets of El Plan town in Pyrenees.
-
This light...!
-
We were visiting end of December so there was xmas decoration all over the place, - sooo pretty in the night!!.
-
Poor sheep, felt really sorry for them..((( but that part of Spain bordering France has only few people respecting animals' rights and leading vegetarian lifestyle, sadly.
-
The path going more up direction Gistain (France was literally a few km's away!)
-
Rooftops of El Plan town with a morning fog and the mountains in the background. How beautiful (and cold!!))), isn't it?
-
Lots of trekking paths along the way, only the laziest wouldn't go :)
-
I also made friends on the way, hehe
-
Then we met with Edu and decided to go back as it started to be really hot (with all the winter clothes on!), and we were very hungry at that point...
-
...but the light, the feeling, the nature & views - everything was so beautiful that we decided to quickly discover another part of the track and take some more pics.. Here's panorama of Plan :)
-
Post run euphoria ;)
-
This fellow looked a bit too scary first, when I saw him running to me full speed with crazy eyes and tonque out...
-
..but then he turned out to be the friendliest (and happiest, I suppose!) dog in the world, hehe
-
Beautiful light inside the old laundry
-
And we're back in town!
-
More friends along the way! :)
-
Plan had this most beautiful morning light with the coldness of winter combined together with the spring warmth, we were super lucky with the weather those few days <3
-
Back to our hotel :)
-
One of the most price reasonable and cozy hotels we saw all the way up till Benasque area, with the most welcoming, professional staff :)
I actually forgot my necklace (not very expensive but very precious to me) on the bathroom mirror when we were leaving in a rush, and they sent it back to Tenerife immediately after we've asked for it :)
-
Happy hikers =D
-
There were no door signs so we had to make one ourselves by using my red lipstick and a piece of shopping bag, lol
Quick stop in the room, shower, change - and, starving to the point of fainting, - we left to Ainsa town to get face stuffed and check out the lake we saw on the map (link here).
-
Went into this pizzeria - restaurante; was tasty but a bit too expensive; service was not too nice either but that's understandable since this one was a very touristy spot.
-
That was NOT meat!!! Even though it totally looks like :) Veggie cannelloni with lotsa cheese and red peppers (and more cheese on top, which exactly makes them look like ham!!)
-
... Cuppa happiness in the end of meal =) Tasted like heaven..
-
And here we are at the lake called 'Embalse de Mediano'. Maybe because of the weather (cloudy, grey, cold), maybe because we haven't met much people, or maybe 'thanks' to the lonely, empty tower sticking out of the middle of the lake (see below), - but this place felt really spooky to me :)
-
Yep, spooky and freezing, lol
-
The tower.
Then we had to run a little, to get warm again until we found our car, and drove back to hotel.
Next part will be about the next adventure: our hiking trip deep into the mountains, up to lake that's 1,910m above sea level, in snow and ice surrounded by the forest... Wishing you all a great week !!! Xx
