Forbidden hiking in El Pijaral

So we just put on hiking shoes, fixed some sandwiches and jumped in the car 🚗 to drive deep up into the famous Anaga forest

The reason why this part of Tenerife requires permission to walk into is because they're trying to protect the most fragile plants & trees growing at El Pijaral from humans by limiting the amount of people per day. We figured that during ongoing pandemic it's not gonna be too crowded up there, besides, we are very careful and conscious about nature, we'd never leave any rubbish or broken trees behind... Sometimes simple wind does more harm than us anyway !!)))

The path was becoming more and more narrow and vertical, we saw a little 'window' on the side of the path that showed us these fantastic views...

Quick break, a bite, and we kept going further

Then saw this rock.. and actually passed by it (Edu even tried to climb it a little)))

Then suddenly the forest was over, and we came out to THIS... (see also iPhone panorama on the top of the post)

On our way back we decided to take another path, which showed some creepy dark, empty caves

We came back to the car and drove back to Santa Cruz via La Laguna/ Los Mercedes, with a quick stop for coffee. In total my iPhone showed 13km, 18ish thousand steps and 122 flights climbed that day, and I loved every minute of it. =)
