Hola! ;) Or Hello from sunny Tenerife... Hope you're all doing fine and excited about the fact that at least half of winter is gone and the whole cold season soon to be over!! Whatever part of this planet you're in.
Recently I've had a real good time photographing this beauuuutiful (isn't it?) holiday villa for a new client, and here're some of images I'd love to share with you.
Also, just wanted to say Thank you SO much for the nice words and support some of you have showed by writing me after the previous post. It does mean a lot to me <3 <3
So here's the photos! You can see why this title...
(Just kidding of course with the above image (more from that session coming up soon!!)))
Hey guys! Yesterday I've had an interesting experience with one of my clients who wasn't happy with the photos and wanted his money back or another - free - photo session despite the fact that all photos were delivered in time and answered the requirements (in my and few other fellow photographers' opinion). Have to say that since I've been doing photography professionally, i.e. for the last 10 ish years, I've never been in such situation. First of all, because I know I am a good photographer ;) My constant clients who keep coming back to me over the years is the best proof of it. Secondly, because I am a strong believer and supporter of a theory 'Client is always right'. Whenever client is saying that he/she is not too happy with any of the photos I took of him/her, I always try to achieve an agreement by adjusting those photos as they want.
Well this case was different. And I don't wanna go into details here it'll take too long, but I was relieved to discover (thanks Google!) some particular things about this, - now ex, - client that proved that it's not the photos that he was unhappy with, it's just the way he is, the way he DOES BUSINESS in his country, and now trying to bring those 'rules' to Spain... Just remember that elementary etiquette and adequate feedback sometimes can really make the difference, while insulting someone is never a good way to keep good relationship with a person who's been working with you for quite some time... A simple politeness can move walls, create good friendships, or at least get what you wanted without any risk of being banned.
Piece & Love xx
Hey guys! Last month I went to La Palma island to shoot this gorgeous house in the middle of banana plantation and right on the beach... Now the photos are published and I can finally share some with you (sorry for the low resolution as it's from company's website) :)
As for business in general, recently I mentioned that I might have some news for you - well, I am super happy and delighted to tell you that I've just signed two work contracts with German companies (one was last year in December - perfect Xmas & New Year's gift!!) and one just yesterday... I am really grateful and very proud of myself. Next goal is to become Number One real estate photographer not only in Tenerife but around the whole Canary Islands ;)
Hello and welcome to meet our new family member (or, a new CAT family member that is))): Joey Tribiani-Acaso-Marennikov hehehe, who's name is dedicated to the handsome and quite simple character from 'Friends' - Joey Tribiani =)
This Joey is only 3,5 months old but he's already got some story to tell... At first, his name was actually Sarah (as his previous family thought 'he' was a 'she'..)), then we thought we'd call him Tsar (or Zar as per name of Grand Princes in Russia, like Ivan the Terrible, for example..)), consonant to Sarah; then Edu offered Ross from "Friends" sitcom (just because we both adore Ross Geller's character)), but he was quite obviously not as intelligent and calm as his prototype, rather silly, cheeky and very naughty. And so he stays Joey for already a month.
He is a very cute and incredibly curious kitten; he's absolutely fearless and brave; he LOVES food and can eat the amount of two adult cats (poor Miapops and Salem, we have to look after them now to make sure they eat their portions and don't starve!!), and he is also the most 'cariñoso' (loving, sweet from Spanish) little cat after his sleep. He's also gonna be quite a large cat when he grows up! And very soon he's also going to be [hopefully!!] much calmer as we're scheduling curtain operation/ surgery for him.... poor little thing, he has no idea yet!.. But we know it's for his own good and, really, inevitable if we wanna keep him inside the house and have our two other grown cats less stressed.
So that's the news for now!! There's also something I'm currently busy with, which I should be able to share with you the upcoming week, - that's more work wise. Wish me luck! Stay tuned and have a fantastic weekend!! X
Hey guys! Hope your week is going well and busy :) Mine not so much atm - have a shoot tomorrow, otherwise it's been 'a little dead'.. so I decided to go to the beach this morning, followed by our run yesterday in the evening at the same beach of Las Teresitas here in Santa Cruz; the sunset was absolutely beautiful; no wind; clearest, calm water - so I made a wish it'll be the same this morning, and it was! Plus super sunny, hot weather... Sharing with you some snapshots (see more on my instagram) and sending you all positive and warm vibes, wherever you are x
P.S. The water this morning was quite chilly to say the least.. so that makes me sort of a hero and, I hope, you a bit less jealous =)
Hey guys, as promised yesterday, here're some pro-camera photos from our Friday trip to Teide! Hope you like it.. Check out here for some more if you like, too: https://mia-photos.com/tenerife
We drove by the northern road, up via Icod de los Vinos by sandy road (warning: not all cars can go through that road!! Only SUV's / offroaders, so be careful, and, furthermore, connection ain't so good either in case if you'll need grua (evacuation services)..).
Passing through strongest, thick fog & clouds
Soon the greenery of the forest has turned all white and snowy.. and oh so beautiful!..
A must pic above the clouds =D
Quick coffee break at Restaurante Bamby. They don't have any other milk options apart from a regular cow one.. so bring your own tea or coffee with preferred plant based milk along x
Babe's happy with his old film cam)))
Stopped there to enjoy some snow sliding (thanks G-d, we all managed to stop before the road started..)))
Edu with his Chaka-chan-chan :)
Fun and, probably, last slide down those hills..))
..or these hills
Less and less snow the more we're coming down to the coast..
Witnessed crazy traffic jams on the way up to Teide when we were coming back down.. Guardia Civil was stopping all traffic, so those who wanted to see Teide in snow, had to leave their cars and walk ca. 2-3 km by foot.
I must admit that every time when I'm feeling low and blaming this island for its bureaucracy, isolation from the 'big land', bad volcanic energy and G-d knows what else (because, you know, when things go bad or just a bit stagnant, you wanna blame whatever & whoever else but not yourself!), I need to remind myself still how bloody lucky I am to live and work here, with the person who I love with all my heart, with THE most amazing, educated cats, to be able to travel between the islands just out of boredom and at the last minute booking, to go snow sliding and next day to swim in the ocean... and many other things. This hurricane Filomena was one of them. We were suffering from the summer heat and begging for rain - we got it. I was feeling nostalgic about snow in Russia - we got that too without even leaving the island... Tenerife has so much to offer if you know where to look and are patient. Even the world pandemic wasn't as bad here as in other countries/cities of the world... And I know that people who have left the island, already miss it and look to come back.
So.. Thank you Tenerife. For all the lessons you taught and keep teaching me. I guess it has become really serious between you & me :)
