Hello loves, happy Friday!! We've been to Benijo beach this week, fixed some car issues and visited our friend Jacques for his bday :)
That's all for now! Next week we're going camping to Fuerteventura for a few days - I honestly cannot wait to be there again after 2 years since last time.. What are your plans for the Easter week (or Semana Santa as they call it in Spain) ?? Xxx
Hey guys, here're one morning moments from our small terrace at home in Tenerife! Cats are loving the way it is now: green, with lots of grass to eat or roll on, and generally 'life' going on.. =) It wasn't like this at all when we moved in last year..
Took us not too long to get it sorted (couple of weeks / 2 months top), we're just a bit lazy or busy with other stuff. But now since it's done it's so great to see how nice & attractive the same space can be!! Esp for the cats - they're absolutely mad about it :)
Also, we've put some new plants and flowers, for example these hortensias that I mentioned recently here and promised to give you updates :)
We were told to plant them without taking out of pots as that could destroy their roots, too delicate for that but, apparently, too strong to break through the pots and settle into soil.. So far they are at least alive, lol, and hopefully we'll see more progress shortly :) Man, I love gardening!!
As said before, cats loving it so much they wanna spend all the time there, but we have to make sure they don't jump over the fence and escape so we have to be always present, watching them (which is difficult at times as we also need to work every now and then, lol..)
This is the little 'bridge' area we went out exploring last year (see here the original post).
Hello and Happy Monday :) Here's a quick sumup of what's happened during the weekend! Saturday we've met with these two beauties (find them on Instagram as @Yoga_Vibe_Tenerife - Emily is a yoga teacher and gives group classes as well as private lessons throughout all Canary islands! - and @LouByrne , - a wonderful human being who lives for a long time here in Tenerife and deals with cars and hotel business) at calle La Noria in Santa Cruz, a perfect place to go if you're looking for a nice resto and not sure which one to pick.., had lunch and talked about life for almost 3 hours.. =)
Next morning had to leave Santa Cruz at insane 7am in order to be in time and park the car (apparently, they closed all roads around the area and simply cut out Las Galletas and the marathon route from everyone who wanted to come and cheer up runners at the finish line!!! Grrr
I was a bit nervous as previous year looked like a miserable disaster, time and preparation wise.. I was coming the very last but then somehow managed to overtake two guys (!! #GPR ))) and came 341st out of 343, but maaaan you've no idea how hard it was for me to do that!.
So I've trained and trained and trained, and when I saw the final time I was just over the moon to see I did 4 mins better than the last year, even though it was hot as hell, 70-80% up long ascending hill and on concrete.
Now, I know I'm not a winner and will never train enough to be even in a first 10. The winner of this race, for instance, had ran craziest 3:15 min/km!. Edu had an amazing result of 4:43, and my time was 6:45, so no doubt I"ll always be in the end of the lists, hahaha!! But I just love the feeling of being a part of something big'; the preparation - mental not less than physical!; the result of being so self-disciplined cos sometimes it's so bloody hard to motivate yourself to go out and train... The whole process from seeing an advert and subscription to crossing that finish line is 100% WORTH it guys, I promise! I'm sure those of you who ran at least once such race can confirm. :) See all the results here, if you like: http://www.mediomaratonlasgalletas.com/
The after-race feeling in your legs will be a proof you did good - first of all, for yourself! - and will last for quite a few days as a 'friendly' reminder about the race, lol. Esp if you ran it together with someone and can share all the emotions afterwards =)
We drove to El Medano and crowled went to El Veinte 04 surf cafe (their website) for a huge lunch to help faster recovery.. then we bought this tasty red wine to celebrate, and headed home for a monster siesta.... watched an apocalypse movie in the evening with very protein-rich dinner & wine, and having our legs up or stretched out on the sofa..)))) That's it for Sunday! :)
Next post is about our smaller terrace' progress at home in Santa Cruz from the time of the purchase till now.. and cats enjoying their morning routine out there =)
Love & Hugs! xoxo
Hey hey, today I'm coming back to December 2018 in Zaragoza - a quick stop on our way to Pyrenees. You can see the posts here: https://mia-photos.com/personal/pyrenees-part-1 (will open in a new window). There're few about Pyrenees, - search by word 'pyrenees' to see them all :)
Hope you liked the post and are enjoying your weekend guys!! Edu's finally back from Lanzarote (see the previous post below), so we're gonna have a niiiice, relaxing, - before tomorrow's half-marathon, - time on the sofa with the cats and movies. He missed them so much, sure they've missed him too! Never can tell with cats though, heh..) X
Hey guys! Today is Friday and it means weekend (hopefully for the most of you anyway!), relax, having a nice time with your friends& family, going out or staying in without feeling guilty hehe, and so on ;) I've just came back from Lanzarote after spending time with Edu (when he was free of work), training for the upcoming half-marathon, recovering on the beach and eating super tasty healthy food which I didn't have to cook myself and wash dishes after, lol
We just met at the airport and went straight for lunch (please excuse our silly faces as we're just happy to see each other after 4 days being apart!)); our room balcony and Playa Blanca' promenade on the right side of the image.
After that we went together with Alvaro to the volcano in La Santa - I will post about it soon!! - and had coffees and lunch afterwards.
The next day I had to fly back, which was sad cause of leaving Edu, but also happy cause I'd see these three lil ones (our holy trinity)):
Thanks for watching / reading and hope you all have a great weekend! Night-night xxx

"Looking through the looking glass
All that seems won't ever last
Broken glass in every tree
Natural I never see
Slipping through my fingertips, like sand
Slipping through my fingertips, sand
Stare into the drinking glass
Walking slow, faces pass
Sipping through my fingertips, like sand
Sipping through my fingertips, each time
Sipping through my fingertips, sand"
